Combo Driver

Job Summary Combo Drivers split their time between being a P&D Driver, operating various tractor-trailer combinations between company service centers and customer facilities or work sites within the terminal's geographic service area and being a Dock Worker, working on the dock to sort, handle, load, and/or unload freight within the service center.

Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of the Combo Driver are:
Operate vehicle safely within DOT regulations that govern safe driving, hours of service, inspection, and maintenance, and transportation of hazardous materials.
Meet or exceed the medical standards of the U.S. Dept. of Transportation and satisfactorily pass a drug test and alcohol test.
Be available for work at all times in order to meet customer pickup and delivery schedules.
Captures and loads due freight.
Ensures the loading quality of all trailers.
Helps the supervisor to ensure that all load out cut times are being met.
Coordinates with the supervisor to promote and run a productive shift.
Assists with coordinating freight, information, and people in a systematic way to optimize efficiency while minimizing duplication of effort.
Assists the supervisor by taking all necessary steps in the closeout preparation of a trailer.

Eligibility Requirements for Combo drivers:
Must have the ability to read, write, speak English and perform simple mathematical calculations with general mental abilities to handle receipts, read maps, road signs, maintain logs, etc.
Must possess a valid commercial driver's license with hazmat, doubles and tanker endorsements.
Must have 12 months previous tractor-trailer driving experience and/or be a graduate of a State Certified, Licensed and Safety Department approved driving school, and/or have satisfactorily completed the Old Dominion Truck Driver Training school (ODTDT-8/88)
Must have the ability to properly operate hand held mini-computer when required.
Must be able to read, write and speak English
Ability to work in extremely hot or cold climates where noise and odors may be present.
Able to walk on non-forgiving surfaces such as concrete, wood or metal and at times on wet and slippery surfaces.
Must have good oral communications skills.
9.Must be able to follow instructions and take directions via two-way radio or by phone.
10.Must be at least 22 years old.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
